Grains are the seeds from both cereals (edible grains from cultivated grasses) and legumes (seeds also called pulses).  Cereals are grown in greater quantities and include wheat, barley, corn (maize) and other cereal grains.

Oilseeds are grown primarily for the oil contained in the seeds and are the basis for a wide range of foods, animal feeds and other products. The process of crushing oilseeds produces vegetable oils and vegetable protein meals.  Oilseeds include soybeans and canola seeds.
